Great value since it's a 2-for-1 deal - enough to cover your face, neck, and arms generously! The brightening effect works well and is quite noticeable. No stinging sensation around the eyes. However, while it brightens, it didn't really suit my skin tone. It made me look rather pale, like I'd applied too much sunscreen. I've uploaded a photo comparing it to the Numbuzin No.3 Tone-Up Sunscreen (the greener formula on the left), which I've used for over 3 tubes. The Numbuzin No.3 was very satisfying (aside from the capsule "kimchi juice" issue), but it's been discontinued... You can see the color difference, right? The greener tint makes for a more natural complexion, while the Real Barrier looks almost bluish in comparison. That's why I have to apply it down to my neck to make it look better. It's also quite sticky. When oil builds up on your face, your hair starts sticking to it - it's a mess! The issue with hair sticking to your face could probably be solved by setting it with powder. It's just a bit of a hassle. - rk*****Normal SkinRecommendedMay 13, 2025
A lightweight, easy-to-apply formula Provides a moisturizing feel Effectively blocks UV rays and reduces facial redness The tone-up product seems to have caused a slight whitening effect. It appears that I'll need to apply it in several thin layers.ㅋㅋㅋ - de******Combination SkinRecommendedApr 16, 2025
It provides a nice tone-evening effect when applied. The high moisture content allows it to spread easily without pilling, making it convenient to use. It seems to have poor staying power, possibly due to incompatibility with my current foundation. - sw**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedApr 9, 2025
For dry skin. Used for about a year. As it's a mineral sunscreen, there's a slight white cast, but it applies smoothly. It's not too thick, but thicker than organic sunscreens (as expected). At first, the white cast feels a bit awkward, but after spreading it well and giving it time, you get a nice brightening effect. However, it's important to apply this after your base skincare has fully absorbed. If you rush to apply it before absorption, you might experience pilling. Overall, it seems pretty good. There aren't really any downsides. No eye irritation, and it was comfortable to use as a mineral sunscreen. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that since it's in a tube, sometimes it suddenly squirts out or pours out all at once. - ba******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 6, 2025
This product is a bit of a mixed bag, which is why I docked it a star. But that doesn't mean it's bad! I'm using it well because it's gentle. The texture is very nice - it doesn't irritate my skin at all and keeps it moisturized. However, it's not quite thumbs-up worthy. Let's just say it's in a gray area! Since the formula is green, I was hoping it would cover facial redness, but unfortunately it didn't live up to that expectation. Oh, and the texture doesn't feel sticky at all, so it's great to apply even down to your neck! - im*********Oily SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 22, 2025
As soon as I applied it to my hand, I could tell what kind of product it was... It's quite transparent! Now, I have skin prone to redness, so I always apply a green sunscreen or makeup base before my foundation, followed by concealer. Since sunscreen is the first step in my skincare routine, it's crucial that it works well with my foundation. Even on days when I'm not wearing makeup, I need something non-irritating with just the right amount of brightening. We all know sunscreen is a must 365 days a year, right?! The brightening effect isn't too strong, and any white cast disappears over time. Anyway, while searching for sunscreens, I remembered how effective the Real Barrier sunscreen was when I had a severe case of seborrheic dermatitis. When I found out they had a version with a green base, I quickly snagged it at a great price on a secondhand marketplace! Using it, I realized... this product is truly transparent! It's incredibly consistent - the texture when you first apply it and how it feels on your skin doesn't change. It's a product that combines both oil and moisture, gliding on smoothly. It's oddly rich yet incredibly hydrating, so it doesn't separate on the skin. There's absolutely no deep dryness, and foundation adheres beautifully on top of it. It's quite rich. If you use oil blotting papers, you'll see they get completely soaked... You'll need to use powder, that's for sure! It's considerably oilier compared to other sunscreens, but it does contain a lot of moisture to balance it out. Also, in my opinion, the green tint was quite subtle. (Referring to the photo, it's clearly lighter in green compared to other makeup bases.) This means it absolutely won't cover redness on its own - you should approach it as a gentle sun protection product. Additionally, mineral sunscreens usually contain both zinc and titanium, but this one only has zinc, which made me question its sun protection ability a bit. I was surprised that a mineral sunscreen could have such good absorption... but it's from the Real Barrier line, so we can trust it, right? It's extremely rich... Photo reference is a must. However, it's also very hydrating, so it might be great for those with dry skin. I apply this on my U-zone and use Cosrx Tone-Up Sun Cream on my T-zone! - jh*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 28, 2024
I use this green brightening moisturizer with SPF because I have redness on my face. When my previous brand discontinued their product, I was searching for a replacement and chose this one as it's quite similar. The only difference is that this formula is a bit thicker, but everything else is comparable, so I've stocked up and continue using it. Personally, I think I'll keep using this sunscreen, as long as it doesn't get discontinued. Some people find the green sunscreen uncomfortable due to its white cast, but that's usually because they're not applying the right amount. Of course, as it's a brightening moisturizer, it's meant to lighten the skin. If you spread it thinly, the brightening effect looks natural when you apply foundation. It's especially essential when I have blemishes, as it contains cica ingredients that cover redness and calm the skin, so I use it year-round. A pro tip: since it's a mineral sunscreen, it can pill, so make sure to apply your skincare well before using this product. - su********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 8, 2024
My skin reacts well to zinc oxide but tends to develop blemishes with titanium dioxide among mineral sunscreen ingredients. Since there aren't many sunscreens on the market with only zinc oxide, I switched from Goodal to Real Barrier sunscreen for its tone-up effect. I'm thrilled with how the green base neutralizes redness and gradually blends into a natural shade that complements my complexion. The texture is surprisingly smooth for a mineral sunscreen, not at all like typical zinc formulas. As someone with super sensitive skin who couldn't even consider base makeup before, I think I've found my holy grail sunscreen in this product! There's nothing negative to report! Though it's worth noting that, like most mineral sunscreens, it can tend to clump a bit when you sweat. Mineral sunscreens can become drying over time, so make sure to apply a generous layer of moisturizer before using this product. - sm******Dry SkinRecommendedJul 26, 2024
You can feel the brightening effect as soon as you apply it! It also gives a nice moisturizing sensation. It's not the type of cream that absorbs instantly, so you need to pat it in and it takes a bit of time to fully absorb. But personally, I prefer it this way! - su*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 5, 2024
As someone with oily skin prone to blemishes, I've been on the lookout for a suitable product. Although I've only used it for a few days, my first impression is quite positive. I'll make sure to leave a more detailed review after using it for a longer period. Since I haven't been using it for long, I'll share any drawbacks I notice after more extended use.
