It has such a powerful cleansing effect that you can really feel those stubborn dead skin cells being washed away! I tried it once when my skin was irritated, and it stung quite a bit, unfortunately. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 25, 2021
The salt granule scrub is convenient since it combines exfoliation and shampooing in one step. It lathers well and has a cooling effect that leaves you feeling refreshed. The salt granules can be quite painful if you have blemishes on your scalp. Be careful not to get it in your eyes or mouth as it can be quite unpleasant. The scrub particles are large and uneven, which can cause irritation, especially along the hairline where it may turn red. I initially used it once a week, but due to the irritation, I now use it only once every few months or mix it with my regular shampoo. The packaging is designed to allow direct application to the scalp, but if not used frequently, the small opening can get clogged with dried scrub particles, which is inconvenient. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 10, 2020
I have severe dandruff and a hot scalp, but after using this product, my head doesn't itch at all the next day, and I barely get any dandruff throughout the day. Massaging the scalp with salt gives a refreshing feeling, and the scent is quite nice too. If you use it on a day when you've been scratching your head, it can sting a bit, probably due to the salt, but it's tolerable. It's better to use it by putting some in your palm, adding a little water to slightly dissolve the salt, as this reduces irritation to the scalp. Director Pi shared this tip. Also, since it can be somewhat irritating, it's best to use it 2-3 times a week. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJul 31, 2019
I've been incredibly stressed since high school because I had dead skin cells on my scalp all year round, even though I washed my hair daily. After discovering this product and trying it, almost all the flakes disappeared in just one use! I was thrilled, wondering why I hadn't found it sooner. Plus, the cooling effect when using it is absolutely amazing! It feels so refreshing! People who habitually touch their scalp or have scalp injuries should be cautious as it can cause a tingling sensation. The amount is somewhat disappointing for using twice a week. Also, just like how skin can get rough if you don't exfoliate regularly, if you stop using this for a while after regular use, it feels like your scalp reverts back to its original condition... After use, your hair might feel a bit stiff, so I recommend following up with a hair mask to achieve silky smooth locks. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 28, 2019
The granules feel a bit large, so if you scrub too hard, it can hurt your scalp. But I keep using it because after scaling with this, I get the same refreshing feeling as I do from a $100+ scalp treatment at the salon. My face has sensitive combination skin, and I think my scalp is similar. Especially after long exposure to sea or sun, my scalp gets sunburned, and in severe cases, the dead skin cells have a wild party and the itching becomes unbearably painful. I used to shed tears of blood at the salon for expensive scalp treatments. After discovering this product for home scalp scaling, I've tried various brands, but this one gives me the highest satisfaction. When I feel my scalp getting itchy again after some time, I just apply this evenly during my shower and gently massage it in. It keeps my scalp feeling fresh and itch-free for a while. The reason I deducted one star is because it's sea salt-based. If you have scratches on your scalp from excessive itching or other reasons, you shouldn't use this product until they're fully healed! It really stings on wounded scalps. If you've scratched your head like crazy due to itching, don't use it that day. Wait a few days before applying. Like with body scrubs, if you find the granules in the scalp scaler too large, thoroughly apply it to your hair, then lightly sprinkle water with the shower head or use your hands to mix a little water into your hair (be careful not to get it in your eyes!), and gently massage. You'll get the hang of it after a few tries! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 24, 2019
I've been searching for various scalp exfoliating products due to my ongoing scalp issues, and I decided to give this one a try from Olive Young. I must say, its cleansing effectiveness for the scalp is not bad at all. After using it, my scalp feels incredibly oil-free and refreshed. Those with super sensitive skin on their scalp might want to avoid this. While the menthol ingredient initially gives a cooling sensation, it became too tingling for me. It felt like it was causing too much irritation to my scalp. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 15, 2019
The fragrance was lovely. I've heard the ingredients are good too. They have sales quite often. I bought this for scalp exfoliation, but it's actually more irritating to my scalp. The salt occasionally causes a stinging sensation. Those with sensitive skin should carefully consider before purchasing. - Hwahae UserOily SkinFeb 20, 2019
It feels refreshing and seems to reduce dead skin cells. Not bad at all. There's a slight tingling sensation on the scalp? It feels a bit irritating. If you have any inflammation on your scalp, it's probably better to just see a doctor. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinSep 12, 2018
The cleansing effectiveness is top-notch, and it's great for removing dead skin cells! It stings when my scalp is sensitive - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 21, 2018
It cleanses with a refreshing sensation. The salt component feels like it's thoroughly removing dead skin cells from the scalp, leaving it invigorated. However, it stings too much! The salt particles feel like they're irritating the scalp, potentially causing redness. It doesn't seem to dissolve well either. When rinsing with water, it's hard to tell if the salt is being washed out properly. Those with super sensitive skin should probably avoid using this.
