After using it, I felt a refreshing sensation on my scalp. I applied it to my scalp first, like a regular shampoo, massaged it in, and rinsed after 2-3 minutes. It left me feeling invigorated. It has small granules and a slight salty scent, haha! I also appreciated that the fragrance wasn't overpowering, but rather subtle and pleasant. There are some potentially harmful ingredients, but since it's not for use on the face, I suppose it's okay. I mix it with regular shampoo and use it about twice a week. After washing, it gives a refreshing and invigorating feeling... so cool and revitalizing! - cj******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityRednessAug 6, 2023
Package - Not too thick, so it feels great to hold when using! Very convenient to use! Amount - 200g isn't a huge amount, but since it's not a daily-use product, it seems to last quite a while. Scent - The fragrance is absolutely lovely! It has an ylang-ylang vibe that's totally my style. I wanted to use it every day because I loved it so much. It really suits my preferences perfectly. Application - It comes out smoothly, making it pleasant to use. Texture - It has a slightly runny consistency. After-feel - As it's a scalp scaler, it makes the hair a bit stiff, but not excessively so. It's fine, especially since applying hair oil after shampooing instantly softens it. So, I didn't find it particularly inconvenient. Moisture/Oil balance - There's no oily feeling after rinsing. It leaves a clean sensation! Irritation - I didn't experience any irritation, possibly because I only used it twice a week. In fact, it felt refreshing and nice to use in the hot summer. It gives you that deep-cleansed feeling. Blemishes - I don't think I experienced any breakouts. Soothing effect - There's nothing particularly soothing about it. You should use it with the goal of removing stubborn dead skin cells! The ingredients... That's why I'm a bit hesitant to use it consistently. You might want to try mixing it with your regular shampoo! I did this occasionally and found it worked even better. If you have sensitive skin but still want to try it, use a small amount of the scaler mixed with your shampoo. - dy*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 12, 2023
It feels incredibly refreshing after use! It's like my mind becomes clearer. It's inconvenient to use, and as a shampoo substitute, it doesn't effectively remove oiliness. - os*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 22, 2022
I've been paying more attention to scalp health lately, as I've heard that a healthy scalp leads to overall better hair health. In summer, when impurities build up, I often get itchy blemishes, so I was interested in scalp exfoliation. I tried this product and found it refreshing and effective. Why was it discontinued? It seems to have been renewed. The new version has a narrower opening, which is great for applying along the parting after sectioning your hair. The salt granules provide a cool, soothing sensation when gently massaged in. There's nothing I dislike about it. However, for those with sensitive scalps, it might be best to dampen the scalp with warm water first and massage very gently. Since it contains exfoliating particles, it could potentially cause irritation. - sk*******Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 12, 2022
This product is absolutely amazing... It's like a first-class ticket to scalp paradise! On days when I haven't washed my hair and it's become terribly greasy, I use this after shampooing. I squeeze out a good amount and massage it thoroughly into my hair. The cooling effect and the sensation of removing built-up grime are just fantastic. The fragrance is lovely, and I can feel my scalp becoming healthier with each use. Be careful when rinsing your hair - if it gets in your mouth, it's quite salty. That's when you realize it really is a salt scrub! If you're using this after shampooing, don't squeeze out too much. It creates an abundance of foam! - b4****Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 21, 2022
I decided to try this product because I realized my scalp also accumulates dead skin cells and needs care. I felt that shampoo alone wouldn't be enough to remove the buildup. My scalp gets oily just after a day of not washing, and sometimes it's itchy even after shampooing, making me scratch intensely... That's the kind of scalp I have. When I dried my hair and ran my fingers through it, white flakes would fly off - not sure if it was dust or dead skin cells (I don't typically have dandruff). After getting recommendations from my online community, I spotted this at Olive Young and grabbed it right away! I received the full-size product and a free sample, and I tried the sample that very day. I expected it to be like a body scrub without lather, but surprisingly, it foamed up really well. It was white in color, and I could feel the coarse particles when I applied and massaged it. As I scrubbed, my scalp felt refreshingly cool. It was so cooling that it almost felt cold, which would be perfect for summer use! On days when I used this, my scalp didn't itch at all, which was such a relief. You know how annoying an itchy scalp can be! Another great thing is that you don't need to use a separate shampoo. However, I tend to use this as a pre-wash scrub and follow up with my regular shampoo. I bought this a week ago and have used it three times so far. I'm thinking of using it a few more times before gradually reducing the frequency. I haven't experienced any issues so far! As for the scent, I have allergies so I can't smell very well. But the fragrance wasn't off-putting or unusable. However, regardless of the scent, if you have a sensitive scalp, it might be best to use this only once a week. The particles are quite coarse. I usually massage with my hands until the particles start to dissolve, then I use a scalp brush to scrub vigorously. It's tiring to keep using just my hands... But if you have a sensitive scalp, don't follow my method! Even for me, while using the scalp brush feels incredibly refreshing, I worry that the stimulation might cause hair loss... If anyone knows a better technique, please let me know! - j0****Combination SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessRednessRecommendedFeb 19, 2022
This is truly a holy grail product! I'm on my second bottle and I absolutely love it. I used to use A**tica products before, but they didn't do much. Now I understand why this one is so popular. It completely eliminates scalp odor and feels refreshingly cool. I use it three times a week, and when I wash my hair in the evening, my scalp feels fresh and amazing until the next afternoon. The packaging could be better. It's a bit difficult to dispense, so I have to pour it into my palm to use it. - 97*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 4, 2022
It has such a powerful cleansing effect that you can really feel those stubborn dead skin cells being washed away! I tried it once when my skin was irritated, and it stung quite a bit, unfortunately. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 10, 2022
While using Dr. For Hair shampoo, I do this scalp scaling once or twice a week, and it feels incredibly refreshing. My scalp seems to be getting noticeably healthier too. I'm planning to repurchase because I feel like I might experience withdrawal symptoms if I stop using it! It does feel refreshing, but I'm a bit concerned that the slightly larger particles might irritate my scalp. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 5, 2022
As a scalp product, I loved its cleansing effectiveness and how well it lathered. It felt rich in hydration, suitable even for those with dry skin. While there weren't any particular downsides, those expecting a cooling sensation might be disappointed as it lacks the typical tingling feeling associated with scalp scaling products.
