It worked great as a shampoo alternative. The product lathers well, and afterwards, it leaves your scalp feeling refreshed with a noticeable scalp-cleansing sensation. The downside is that the package doesn't have a separate lid, making it easy for air to get in. This causes the product to harden quickly, so you have to unclog it every time you use it, which is a bit inconvenient. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 14, 2020
I bought a whole set of this brand's shampoo and conditioner on a whim. The scalp scaler was something new for me, and while it seemed like a hassle at first, I was pleasantly surprised. The fragrance is lovely, and my scalp feels so refreshed afterward that I now use it once a week. What's with this product? I use it every few days, but it always hardens at the opening. I have to open the cap and rinse it before each use. After about 4 uses, it becomes hard to squeeze out, which is quite frustrating. When I went to the bathhouse with a friend, she complained about her scalp burning, and I accidentally got some in my eyes - it stung like crazy! You really need to be careful when using this. Honestly, I lived just fine without it before, and given its high price, I won't be repurchasing. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 27, 2019
Since I didn't use any scalp care or hair care products other than shampoo before, it's refreshing and nice to be able to massage my scalp with the granules and do a double cleanse. I love the cool, tingling sensation on my scalp. It feels like a deep clean for my scalp. You need to be diligent with everything. It's easy to get lazy and skip it, or even when you do use it, you might not be thorough. The packaging could use some improvement. After a couple of uses, the salt granules clump together and block the opening. You end up having to open the entire lid to use it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 26, 2019
After using this, my scalp feels as refreshing as if I applied a peppermint candy! It's like the granules completely remove all the dead skin cells from the scalp. I'd say using it once or twice a week is just right - you don't want to overdo it. First off, if you use this alone, your hair becomes too stiff, so you absolutely need to use it with conditioner. Also, sometimes the granules get stuck at the opening, making it hard to squeeze out the product. Don't apply it directly to your head. Instead, dilute it with water in your hand first, then use it. This method is less irritating to the scalp! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 14, 2019
I've been eyeing this at Olive Young and finally bought two, almost finishing one. It's packed with coarse salt granules. When you squeeze it onto your scalp and gently massage, then rinse, your scalp feels incredibly clean! The menthol ingredient gives a refreshing sensation, and the salt granules seem to exfoliate all the dead skin cells. Following the instructions, I use this product instead of shampoo about twice a week. It lathers quite well like shampoo, and the scent is absolutely divine. The fragrance is seriously amazing... my boyfriend even commented on how good it smells. Oh, and after washing, I noticed a significant reduction in how quickly my hair gets oily. While the price might seem a bit high for the volume, if you think of it as a scalp treatment, I'd definitely buy it again... The salt granules can clog the opening. The structure is designed so that when you twist the cap, a small hole opens, and twisting it back closes it. But after using it once or twice, the salt granules hardened and blocked the hole. No matter how much I squeezed, nothing came out. When I checked, it was completely clogged... I hope this aspect could be improved. If the opening gets clogged, try completely removing the cap and soaking it in hot water to dissolve the salt granules. Use this method when it gets blocked. Also, since the salt granules are quite coarse, be careful not to rub too hard as it might irritate your scalp. Use with caution. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 24, 2019
I bought this because I have seborrheic dermatitis. After using it, I feel so refreshed and clean! My hair texture has improved too. My dandruff has significantly decreased and the inflammation has been greatly reduced, so I'll definitely keep purchasing and using it. The price? Sigh... It runs out much faster than I expected. When using it, the product hardens at the opening, making it difficult to squeeze out. It might be irritating to the skin because after scalp exfoliation, my scalp was bright red. That's why I'm deducting one star. After use, close the cap and clean the nozzle with hot water! This will prevent the product from hardening at the opening, making it easier to squeeze out next time you use it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinDec 3, 2018
I tried this scalp scrub to address my hair loss concerns. When I massaged it in with its salt-like granules, I felt a refreshing coolness on my scalp and a sense of cleanliness. It really gives the impression of a thorough cleansing of the scalp. The opening of the container tends to get clogged sometimes, making it difficult to dispense the product. I've been using it consistently once a week. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 17, 2018
It's convenient to be able to shampoo and exfoliate dead skin cells at the same time. It seems to provide some level of exfoliation. After using it for the first time, the product stopped coming out of that long nozzle. I had to open the cap completely to use it, which was really inconvenient. It seems like it solidified and got clogged. A pump-style dispenser would have been better. Compared to the tingling sensation from the salt granules, it doesn't exfoliate very well. Also, my hair and scalp felt extremely dry after use. When I used this two days after a bubble hair dye, I thought my scalp was going to peel off. Absolutely do not use this when your scalp is super sensitive. I tried it again four days after dyeing my hair, and it didn't hurt then. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 27, 2017
As someone with a sensitive and oily scalp, I really needed a shampoo with strong cleansing power, so I was very satisfied with the ingredients as well!!! For those with a lot of oil and buildup, this would be a great option, even if they only want to use gentle products! You can get a good month's use out of it by only using it once or twice a week!! But I would recommend against using it if you have a sensitive scalp... I have a sensitive scalp too, and it seems like the oily, flaky areas on my scalp were causing some weeping and crusting ㅠㅠ Everything else was great, but I'd advise against using it if you have any existing scalp issues. To add, my scalp was in an extremely sensitive state when I first tried it. I've been using it twice a week to write this Hwahae review, but I'll be cutting back to once a week now. It has helped reduce a lot of my buildup and oil, so it's a product with both pros and cons.ㅎㅎ For those with slightly sensitive scalps, if you apply the product and then use warm water to slightly dissolve the particles before massaging it in, the coarse particles will melt away, making it less irritating to scrub.ㅎㅎ - Hwahae UserDry SkinNov 24, 2017
I was selected as a trial reviewer and am writing a review after 2 weeks of actual use. I used to have frequent scalp troubles and a lot of hair loss. I thoroughly wet my scalp with water, divided my hair into sections with a hair brush, and massaged it with my fingers like shampooing. I could feel the salt granules, but it wasn't irritating and had a refreshing 'fizz' sensation! It seems like I'm losing less hair, and the important thing is that my scalp troubles have significantly reduced. I plan to continue using it consistently. I use it twice a week, but the opening is always clogged. The salt granules have hardened and clogged it, so I have to poke it open with a fine-toothed comb. I hope this can be improved. It's so refreshing that I easily fall asleep when using it at night. Highly recommended!!
