It absorbed quickly without any white cast, feeling fresh, so I thought 'this is it' and applied it generously on my face like a moisturizer. After all, it's better to apply sunscreen liberally...
ConsApplication: Is this really non-white cast? My face turned completely white! To avoid the white cast, you need to apply it very thinly like a BB cream. But if you apply it that thinly, it won't provide enough sun protection, right? Anyway, my face looks ghostly white, and it stays that way even hours later. Moreover, if you touch your face even slightly, it pills like dead skin. This really surprised me... The sunscreen just peels off in flakes, leaving bare patches. Blemishes: I felt a burning sensation right after applying, but I thought it was just a cooling effect and continued. However, about an hour later, I developed itchy, mosquito bite-like bumps in several spots. I have super sensitive skin, so finding products that work for me is rare - maybe 1 in 10. So I won't blame the product entirely. Anyway, after washing it off and writing this review the next day, my entire face is itchy, stinging, and developing rash-like bumps here and there. This always happens when a product doesn't suit me. Sigh...
TipNot recommended for sensitive skin. Even if you don't have sensitive skin, it pills like dead skin cells. Absolutely can't be used with makeup, so if you're going to use it, only use it on bare skin. If you really, really insist on using it... well, good luck!

I was looking for a sunscreen that wouldn't pill when I apply foundation over it.
ConsToday, I didn't feel like wearing foundation, so I applied my usual skincare routine - toner, emulsion, and cream - followed by this sunscreen before heading to work. When I got home, I noticed that it had pilled around my chin area, looking like dead skin cells. I'm not sure if wearing a mask made it worse. While the ingredients are good, the pilling issue is disappointing. I probably won't use it again, except maybe on my arms and legs in summer. What a shame!
TipHow are others managing to use this without experiencing pilling?

This is my first review as a Hwahae Tester, so I made sure to use it thoroughly! * The amount is generous. I love that there's enough to apply not just on the face, but also on the neck and arms. * As it's a mineral sunscreen, it's an excellent choice for those who can't use chemical sunscreens. * The texture isn't thick or heavy - it absorbs smoothly and easily. * Usually, matte sunscreens can be irritating due to their dry application, but this product's smooth application is a real plus. * I've used it for over a week, and while I did get some blemishes on my chin due to wearing a mask, this product didn't cause any breakouts. It seems to suit my skin well. * I appreciate that it has less of that typical sunscreen smell (you know, that beachy scent?). * At first, I thought there might be a white cast because it applied so smoothly, but once I spread it out, it absorbed completely with no residue! * I'm pleased to have found such a gentle, non-irritating sunscreen from an unfamiliar brand. I have a feeling it'll become popular soon!
Cons* The texture is so smooth that I thought it would be a moisturizing product, but after application, it actually felt quite matte... I even felt it was a bit drying. * When I applied moisturizer before the sunscreen for hydration, it didn't exactly pill, but it did clump a bit. I found it works better when applied after a serum or ampoule. * It can tend to pill around the edges of the face, so apply thinly in those areas. * You need to use it up before it expires, so don't be stingy - apply it thoroughly on your neck and hands too. Is this a pro or a con? Haha!
Tip* Don't skimp on application - use it generously on your neck, hands, and back of the neck. It's important to use up sunscreen before it expires! * Those with dry skin might need to apply a good base skincare routine first. * Be careful when opening the product if it's been standing upright, as the contents might spill out. Open it gently!

My skin type is dry with redness, but I don't experience blemishes or tightness. 1. Texture and application: It has a moisturizing, light emulsion-like texture. It spreads smoothly without dripping or clumping. 2. Fragrance: Fragrance-free. There's no scent at all due to the absence of added fragrances. 3. No white cast: Unlike typical mineral sunscreens, this one leaves absolutely no white cast. While it doesn't provide tone correction, it seems to smooth out skin texture when applied following your skin's contours (in my subjective opinion). 4. Powder-like finish: Despite its moisturizing emulsion-like texture, it dries to a non-sticky, powder-like finish. 5. No eye irritation, itching, or tiny bumps whatsoever!
ConsWhile I didn't experience any major drawbacks during use, there are a few minor points worth mentioning. [Update 7/28/2020: After consistent use, I've noticed an issue! It pills... For some reason, it pills. Could it be incompatible with my skincare products? It pills and turns white like dead skin cells. When I gently rub it, it comes off in long, eraser-like clumps. As my skin gets dry, it appears as white flakes... I wonder why? I'm curious if those with oily skin experience the same issue.] 1. Dryness: Even though I tend to apply my skincare products generously, this sunscreen quickly absorbs the oils, leaving my skin feeling dry. It's not tight, but it might be a bit lacking for those with dry skin in winter. It should be fine for use any time except the coldest months. 2. The thin texture leads to using more product. Initially, I worried about how long the 120ml would last, but I found myself going through it quickly with reapplication. The thin application is both a pro and a con. 3. Price point: While there are no major flaws with this product, I'm unsure if it offers better value compared to other affordable sunscreens. If paying full price... well, it's a price that makes me hesitate a bit.

I have dry, atopic, and sensitive skin. I compared this product with my usual mineral sunscreen (Innisfree Non-nano Non-comedogenic Mineral Sunscreen). Skin Irritation: 5/5 With my dry, atopic, and sensitive skin, I usually experience itching and blemishes when using sunscreens with harsh ingredients or those that are too drying. However, this product caused no such issues, which was great. Application: 5/5 I'll focus on how the sunscreen applies on its own. While I haven't tried many mineral sunscreens, this might be one of the best. It applies smoothly and doesn't feel like a typical mineral sunscreen at all. Hydration: 3/5 This rating is based on personal preference. As I have extremely dry skin, I actually prefer products that are so moisturizing they're almost sticky. Being a mineral sunscreen, it inevitably takes away some hydration. It doesn't make your skin completely matte, but it does reduce some of the initial stickiness from your base products as it sets. If you don't have extremely dry skin, you might find this more comfortable to use. White Cast: 5/5 It brightens your complexion very subtly and naturally. I usually prefer products with a brightening effect, so I've been using the Innisfree Non-comedogenic sunscreen. Compared to that, this product has almost no white cast. While not entirely absent, it's the minimal amount you'd expect from a mineral sunscreen. It slightly brightens the skin, which gives a nice, lively look when going out bare-faced.
ConsCompatibility with Cushion/Concealer: 1/5 I'm not sure if it's because I use a lot of skincare products, but when I apply cushion foundation or concealer after this sunscreen, it pills. Interestingly, this doesn't happen when I use the Innisfree Non-comedogenic sunscreen with the same skincare routine. It doesn't pill to the point of forming visible clumps, but it tends to gather unevenly in certain areas, leaving other parts uncovered. Because of this, I only use this product on days when I don't have important plans or when I'm not wearing makeup. This was disappointing.
TipIf you apply multiple, heavy layers of skincare products, it might be best to use this sunscreen on its own.

(I have many pustular acne and blemishes, unfortunately.) I've never found a sunscreen that I could stick with long-term. The one I used the longest was Etude's Pure Sunscreen, but even that left my skin feeling dry towards the end of the day. Then I was lucky enough to be selected by The Hwahae Testers to try the non-nano sunscreen! I used it consistently for a whole week! 💜 It's incredibly hydrating! (So much moisture!) The way it absorbs is amazing - you could almost mistake it for an emulsion! It applies lightly with a water-based feel, no oiliness, and finishes with a subtle powdery texture. I was worried it might get drier over time, but it didn't! 💜 No blemishes! (Gentle ingredients) This may vary from person to person, but I usually find my skin feels uncomfortable with sunscreen, often making my existing blemishes worse. But with this one, I didn't get any new blemishes at all! It's amazing. 💜 Almost no white cast There's just the tiniest hint of it! It doesn't leave a pale cast even when I apply foundation or cushion over it, which is great. 💜 Great value for a large size! The quantity is so generous you could even use it on your body. I think it'll be perfect for summer use too! 🍀 Recommended for: : Those with dry skin! Especially if your skin tends to get very flaky and cracked : People like me who are prone to pustular blemishes : Perfect for use in winter, fall, spring, and on dry days
Cons💙 It can pill if your skincare routine is too hydrating This is really something to watch out for! When I applied it after using an ampoule, an oily essence emulsion, and a cream, it pilled terribly... It worked best when I only used two steps - ampoule and essence emulsion - before applying the sunscreen. Depending on how hydrating your skincare routine is, you might want to skip the cream. 💙 Despite being called an inorganic sunscreen, it feels more like an organic one Ethylhexyl is listed as the top ingredient, so I'm not sure why they're calling it an inorganic sunscreen...

(Skin type: Combination + Sensitive) I just want to use this product exclusively. It's perfect for summer use. It has a light, watery moisturizer texture, and when I applied it, I couldn't believe it wasn't just a regular moisturizer. It's incredibly hydrating and lightweight! Since chemical sunscreens don't agree with my skin, I only use mineral sunscreens. This one is non-nano, so there's hardly any irritation. Nowadays, I wear a mask all day, so I skip makeup and only apply sunscreen. There's very minimal white cast. It's not completely absent, but it's barely noticeable. In the hand swatch photo, the right side is where I applied the product. You can hardly tell! This is the best mineral sunscreen I've used so far, and it works great under makeup too. The best part? The value for money! The amount you get is really generous.
ConsOn a sunny day, I got a bit overzealous and applied too much, which caused it to pill like dead skin cells, haha. I think it's because I slathered it on like a moisturizer. If you apply the right amount, it doesn't pill. After using it for a few months, I noticed that if you apply it and rub it in too much, it pills terribly.
TipIt's hydrating without feeling rich or greasy. The moisturizing effect lasts for quite a while and doesn't disappear immediately! Just something to keep in mind.

After application, it feels light and refreshing on the skin, without any heavy or suffocating sensation. Adequate hydration, comfortable skin - I used to experience dry, tight skin and flushed cheeks from spending long hours in heated indoor environments. Since using this product, my skin feels comfortable without the 'dehydrated carrot' effect. I've been using it daily since receiving it, and haven't experienced any eye irritation, skin itching, or blemishes, so I'm using it with peace of mind. Fragrance-free - There's absolutely no scent to irritate the nose. Using this sunscreen made me realize that my other cosmetics actually had fragrances. ✨Overall, this product seems to live up to its claim of being a 'low-irritation sunscreen'! It feels like a sunscreen that works hard to provide good absorption and adequate hydration. I'm sticking with this product for the foreseeable future.
ConsAs others have mentioned, it would be nice if there was a smaller size option available. While it's reassuring to have plenty of product, I wonder if I can use up such a large amount within 6 months by myself. If you apply too much at once, thinking it spreads easily, it can pill like dead skin cells. (However, I don't think anyone else would apply as excessively as I did... I applied enough for two faces!) For those with extremely dry skin and poor exfoliation, it may appear to separate slightly in the driest areas (like the tip of the nose). If you have very dry skin, it's best to apply a moisturizing base before the sunscreen. +Addition It seems to be an issue with the formula itself, not the hydration. It pills like dead skin cells... It often separates on dry areas like the tip of the nose. I stopped using it due to the pilling issue, which is why I've reduced my rating!
