It's not thick or sticky when applying, more like a light emulsion. I even use it around my eyes without any stinging. Definitely a winter essential for keeping skin hydrated.
ConsIt tends to run easily with sweat in summer. I feel like I'm sweating more than usual when wearing it too.

If you're looking for a mineral sunscreen that's easy to cleanse off, I highly recommend this one. Update: It might pill a little at first, but once it's fully set, it doesn't budge at all. I really like it!
ConsThe only downside is that I tend to apply sunscreen generously, and with this one, if you apply too much, it can pill like eraser shavings, which is a bit disappointing.

Here's what I found: 1. It has a moisturizing, emulsion-like texture without feeling greasy. 2. There's a slight white cast, which is expected with mineral sunscreens, but it's not severe. The level of white cast is similar to Innisfree's Blueberry Sun Cream. 3. So far, it's the most long-lasting in terms of hydration among all the sunscreens I've tried. As someone with super sensitive and extremely dry skin, I've researched and tried many sunscreens. I wanted to find a mineral sunscreen that wouldn't dry out my skin, as chemical ones, despite being less drying, irritate my eyes. However, even when I bought supposedly moisturizing mineral sunscreens, they would either leave my skin feeling dry on the inside with just oil on the surface, or just dry out completely after a while. I choose sunscreens based on how long they can keep my skin from feeling tight after applying them over a thorough skincare routine on good skin days. Until now, I hadn't found a sunscreen that could maintain moisture until the afternoon, even with good skin condition and a solid base routine. To give you an idea, I've tried sunscreens from Innisfree (Blueberry and True Care), Dr.G (Pink and Green), Hera, Espoir Water Splash, Make P:rem, Ampleur, and most from Missha. Among these, Retowa keeps my skin hydrated the longest. Usually, my skin would feel tight about 3 hours after applying sunscreen at 7 AM, but with Retowa, it feels fine until around lunchtime. While I'm not sure how it'll perform in the dead of winter, it held up well during the dry spring transition period, so I'm optimistic.
ConsBeing a mineral sunscreen, it takes a bit of time to absorb. While I usually prefer large, value-for-money products, that's not the case with sunscreens. It's recommended to reapply every 3-4 hours, and for someone with extremely dry skin like me who needs to replenish oil and moisture, this takes up the most space in my bag when I carry it around. Also, while it's a plus for me, it's not waterproof - it washes off easily with just water.
TipSince it washes off easily, when my skin feels dry and needs hydration, I can gently remove some with a toner-soaked cotton pad, apply cream, and then reapply the sunscreen. This alone keeps my skin from drying out (for context, my skin is so dry that this wouldn't be enough with other sunscreens - I'd need to apply more products). Being a mineral sunscreen, Retowa doesn't pair perfectly with makeup. However, sunscreens that work well with makeup tend to be hybrid formulas or cause inner dryness for me. I found that mixing Retowa with a bit of my usual makeup base that works well for me gives good results. When applying Retowa sunscreen, I mix in a bit of my usual, compatible makeup base, and it works out well.

This product, however, is different. While it's not as hydrating as they claim, it does have a bit more moisture than typical mineral sunscreens. It's still drier compared to chemical sunscreens, but it feels like a nice balance between the two. Unlike other mineral sunscreens that need to be applied quickly like a matte foundation, this one glides on smoothly like an emulsion (it feels more like a sun milk). After application, other mineral sunscreens leave a powdery finish, but this one feels like you've applied a light BB cream - not too moisturizing, but you can tell something's there. What surprised me most was the minimal white cast. It only increases skin brightness by about 5%, which is barely noticeable to the naked eye. I've never seen a mineral sunscreen with such little white cast (excluding sun sticks). Usually, I'm very careful about reapplying sunscreen due to white cast and dryness, but with this product, I can reapply generously without worry. It's fragrance-free, non-irritating, and I didn't experience any itching throughout the day. The attached photos compare the white cast - I applied it to half of my hand, and you can barely see a difference. 1. Before application 2. Product on hand 3. Applied to lower half 4. Same as 3 - The difference between applied and non-applied areas is almost indistinguishable, showing how little white cast there is.
ConsThere is some pilling with this product. At first, I was confused why the sunscreen kept pilling, but I think it particularly didn't mesh well with the ampoule I was using. It would pill noticeably, especially around my chin, even without much movement. On days when I only used an exfoliating toner before applying the sunscreen, there was less pilling. However, if I touched or rubbed my face, it would still pill slightly. While I generally like larger sized products, the shelf life after opening is only 6 months, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to use it all in time. Some people find the large container inconvenient, but I didn't have any issues with it - it's similar in size to a regular foam cleanser.
TipFor long outings, it might be good to transfer some into a 30ml pump bottle for easy carrying. Once the pandemic is over, I plan to buy some empty bottles for this purpose.

My routine is always toner-emulsion-cream-sunscreen-foundation. When I first applied this product, I accidentally used too much, but surprisingly, it didn't sit on top of my skin and absorbed well. It absorbs quickly without any sticky feeling! Unlike other products I've used before, where my under-eye area or forehead would feel tight and dry after a few hours, this one doesn't do that at all, even in dry weather. It's not suffocating, and even when my makeup breaks down, it doesn't clump up messily. I think this is its biggest advantage. I love it so much!
ConsThere's not really anything to complain about, but the size is so big that I might not be able to use it all before it expires. I wish they would make it a bit smaller and lower the price! Also, I think sunscreen should be portable for summer use, so the large size could be seen as a drawback in that sense too.
TipYou can just slather it on carelessly and it still applies well!

I've tried many highly-recommended products and was still on the hunt for the perfect match when I came across this one. I decided to give it a try, and I'm pleasantly surprised by how satisfied I am! When choosing a sunscreen, my priorities as a man are: no white cast, a slight brightening effect without looking dull, and non-drying formula. The Ret and Non-nano Mineral Sunscreen ticks all these boxes perfectly. Usually, I'd have to mix sunscreen with a moisturizer or BB cream to get the desired effect, as one product alone wouldn't suffice. However, with this sunscreen, I can achieve a natural brightening effect and avoid dryness without any white cast - all in one application. It's fantastic! Moreover, when I used to mix moisturizer and sunscreen, it sometimes felt a bit heavy and slightly greasy. With this product alone, my skin feels fresh and light, which I love! As we age, our skin type can change with the seasons, requiring different products throughout the year. This sunscreen seems perfect for the changing seasons and the spring-summer period!
ConsTo be honest, I haven't found any downsides yet. If I had to nitpick, I'd say it would be great if they could offer a smaller size in addition to the current large volume. A more portable option would be convenient for on-the-go use!
TipHere's a tip: I used to avoid mineral sunscreens due to issues with absorption and white cast, opting instead for chemical sunscreens. However, chemical sunscreens often stung my eyes, so I couldn't apply them near that area. With the Ret and Non-nano Mineral Sunscreen, I can generously apply it around my eyes without any irritation! For an extra boost, I mix it with eye cream when applying to the eye area.

My skin type is dry with redness, but I don't experience blemishes or tightness. 1. Texture and application: It has a moisturizing, light emulsion-like texture. It spreads smoothly without dripping or clumping. 2. Fragrance: Fragrance-free. There's no scent at all due to the absence of added fragrances. 3. No white cast: Unlike typical mineral sunscreens, this one leaves absolutely no white cast. While it doesn't provide tone correction, it seems to smooth out skin texture when applied following your skin's contours (in my subjective opinion). 4. Powder-like finish: Despite its moisturizing emulsion-like texture, it dries to a non-sticky, powder-like finish. 5. No eye irritation, itching, or tiny bumps whatsoever!
ConsWhile I didn't experience any major drawbacks during use, there are a few minor points worth mentioning. [Update 7/28/2020: After consistent use, I've noticed an issue! It pills... For some reason, it pills. Could it be incompatible with my skincare products? It pills and turns white like dead skin cells. When I gently rub it, it comes off in long, eraser-like clumps. As my skin gets dry, it appears as white flakes... I wonder why? I'm curious if those with oily skin experience the same issue.] 1. Dryness: Even though I tend to apply my skincare products generously, this sunscreen quickly absorbs the oils, leaving my skin feeling dry. It's not tight, but it might be a bit lacking for those with dry skin in winter. It should be fine for use any time except the coldest months. 2. The thin texture leads to using more product. Initially, I worried about how long the 120ml would last, but I found myself going through it quickly with reapplication. The thin application is both a pro and a con. 3. Price point: While there are no major flaws with this product, I'm unsure if it offers better value compared to other affordable sunscreens. If paying full price... well, it's a price that makes me hesitate a bit.

I have dry, atopic, and sensitive skin. I compared this product with my usual mineral sunscreen (Innisfree Non-nano Non-comedogenic Mineral Sunscreen). Skin Irritation: 5/5 With my dry, atopic, and sensitive skin, I usually experience itching and blemishes when using sunscreens with harsh ingredients or those that are too drying. However, this product caused no such issues, which was great. Application: 5/5 I'll focus on how the sunscreen applies on its own. While I haven't tried many mineral sunscreens, this might be one of the best. It applies smoothly and doesn't feel like a typical mineral sunscreen at all. Hydration: 3/5 This rating is based on personal preference. As I have extremely dry skin, I actually prefer products that are so moisturizing they're almost sticky. Being a mineral sunscreen, it inevitably takes away some hydration. It doesn't make your skin completely matte, but it does reduce some of the initial stickiness from your base products as it sets. If you don't have extremely dry skin, you might find this more comfortable to use. White Cast: 5/5 It brightens your complexion very subtly and naturally. I usually prefer products with a brightening effect, so I've been using the Innisfree Non-comedogenic sunscreen. Compared to that, this product has almost no white cast. While not entirely absent, it's the minimal amount you'd expect from a mineral sunscreen. It slightly brightens the skin, which gives a nice, lively look when going out bare-faced.
ConsCompatibility with Cushion/Concealer: 1/5 I'm not sure if it's because I use a lot of skincare products, but when I apply cushion foundation or concealer after this sunscreen, it pills. Interestingly, this doesn't happen when I use the Innisfree Non-comedogenic sunscreen with the same skincare routine. It doesn't pill to the point of forming visible clumps, but it tends to gather unevenly in certain areas, leaving other parts uncovered. Because of this, I only use this product on days when I don't have important plans or when I'm not wearing makeup. This was disappointing.
TipIf you apply multiple, heavy layers of skincare products, it might be best to use this sunscreen on its own.

It applies smoothly like an emulsion!! After application, it doesn't feel like it's sitting on top of the skin, but absorbs well without any stickiness. 2. It felt moisturizing on my skin. Usually, if I apply even slightly matte sunscreen before makeup, my skin becomes dry and patchy. But recently, when I went out using only this sunscreen, my makeup didn't look flaky, and it felt light enough to wear on its own. It should be great for spring and summer!! (For reference, I usually use Espoir Water Splash Sun Cream) 3. As mentioned above, I liked how light it felt after application. My usual Espoir sunscreen feels a bit heavy right now, but this one is light yet moisturizing, which I really liked. 4. The fact that it's fragrance-free!! That was my favorite part!! 5. And there's no white cast!! I usually don't like products with white cast, so I find myself reaching for this one more often.
ConsHmm... there's nothing particularly bad yet. If I had to pick one thing, maybe it's a bit bulky for carrying around? If I notice anything else as I continue using it, I'll add to this!

First off, my skin is super oily but not sensitive. 1. No white cast While this can be a divisive feature, I personally love sunscreens without a white cast. It doesn't leave that chalky look, making it perfect for a light application. 2. Texture and application The sunscreen glides on as smoothly as an emulsion. With my oily skin, I can skip multiple layers of skincare unless it's extremely dry out. It truly applies like a dream - soft and hydrating. 3. Non-sticky finish Despite its moisturizing application, it dries to a semi-matte finish without any stickiness. This is exactly the feel I adore, so it's right up my alley. No tacky residue means no discomfort and no pilling when applying makeup! 4. All-season friendly I believe this can be used year-round. It's especially great for summer and winter, seasons that often require specific sunscreens. It's comfortable in summer without feeling heavy, and in winter, it's sufficient with just a good base skincare routine. 5. Gentle ingredients Even those with sensitive skin can use this. My sister, who has super sensitive skin, bought one because it's so gentle. I can confidently vouch for this claim.
Cons1. Amount vs. container size The container is quite large, which initially surprised me, but it's only half-filled with product. I really hope they improve this. It's too big to fit comfortably in a makeup pouch, yet doesn't contain as much product as its size suggests, which is disappointing.
TipHighly recommended for those with sensitive skin and anyone looking for an all-season sunscreen.
